Weaving Weekends

Learn to weave.  Or if you already weave, investigate the world of rag rug weaving.

Once a month, Crazy as a Loom hosts a weaving weekend. This is a getaway for the person who wants to weave, but has never before found the time, or the place.   There are a dozen looms to work on, shelves full of warp threads, and tons of fabric.  You can come alone, or bring a friend or two.  There are three comfortable guest bedrooms and a full bath upstairs.  Arrive Friday after 3pm, leave Sunday by 4pm.  Included in your stay is dinner on Friday night,  breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday.  Dinner Saturday is on your own.  There are several nice restaurants in the area.

You will learn to put a warp on the loom, and you will weave a small project, or two, as time permits.  All weaving materials are included. Enjoy the ambience of a historic, country home while learning a homespun craft that will last you a lifetime.

Or perhaps you already know how to weave, and you just need a weekend away from your daily grind.  Come to Crazy as a Loom Weaving Studio, and weave something fun on one of the many looms available.  If you need to explore your options, give me a call at 518-747-4147, or email me at ragrugs@crazyasaloom.com

  Cost for the weekend:  $395

Deposit of $100 is required.  In the event of cancellation, deposit will be refunded any time up to 7 days prior to the Friday your weekend starts.  After that, it is not refundable.

Weekdays can be substituted for a weekend, call for details.

Here are the pictures from weaving weekends.

There were five very ambitious and crafty weavers:  Patricia, Cathy, Cathy, Romelle, and Lisa.

It was a very busy, and productive weekend, with lots of laughs, good conversation, good food, and a whole lot of weaving.

I think they all enjoyed themselves, and I enjoyed having them.

If I had influence with the good fairy who
is supposed to preside over the
christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the
world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout
life.? (Rachel Carson 1907-1964)
